Account Administration
All account admin requests must be serviced or requested by an Account Admin. If you are unable to contact an Admin, please refer to the Admin Promotion section below. Any account issues that cannot be serviced by an Admin or by users can only be on Cloud versions of Retool. If you need assistance with these issues on a self-hosted version of Retool, reach out to a Retool Admin of your deployment or a member of your IT team responsible for your Retool deployment.
Reach out to an Admin in your organization for any of these requests:
- I want to reset my Multifactor Authentication (MFA) because I have a new mobile device/I want to remove MFA from my account
- I have a Retool account but when I tried to log in I received an error message that my account has been disabled
- I want to archive my individual user account/I want to archive my whole Retool organization
- I want to change the subdomain of my Retool organization (ie example.retool.com > newexample.retool.com)
Contact Support if you are unable to identify the Admin. This information can be disclosed if you share an email domain with other users in the organization and are a user in the Retool account.
Only individual users can take these actions; admins can contact Support for help taking these actions on behalf of users:
Resetting Google Login
All users can Reset Google Login in Settings > Account or Settings > Permissions. (If you are locked out of accessing your own Retool account because of Google Login issues, you can reach out to Support from the same email address of the account to have your Google Login reset).
Switching from Google Login to Username/Password
Follow the instructions to Resetting Google Log and then clicking on Reset Your Password at the bottom of the login screen. An admin in your organization can also send a Reset Password link by going to Settings > User and clicking on the ... icon next to your User and selecting Copy password link.
These actions can only be done by an Admin in Settings. Other account requests (ie. billing changes/Reset Google Log In/app inspections) made to Support must come from an enabled Admin in your organization. Account requests made to Support that do not originate from an Admin cannot be fulfilled.
Admin Promotions
Admin access can be granted by another Admin by adding a user to the admin permission group.
My organization does not have any active Admins...
If you do not have any active Admins in your organization (ie. Admin is no longer a member of your organization outside of Retool), please reach out to the IT administrator for your organization to provide access to the Admin's email account where a request can be made.
If you are unable to access an Admin's email account, reach out to Support from the account of a Retool user that shares the same email domain (non-public domains ie. gmail) as the other users in the organization. Requests that cannot meet this criteria will not be considered, and you will have to create a new account.
