Manage users
Learn how to invite users and manage group membership from Settings > Users.
Navigate to Settings > Users to invite and manage the members of your Retool organization.
Invite users
- Navigate to Settings > Users.
- Click Invite.
- Enter one or more email addresses.
- Optionally assign the user to one or more groups.
- Click Invite users.
Invited users appear in the user list with a Pending status until they accept. If you need to cancel an invite, open the user's detail page and select Revoke invite from the Manage menu.
Manage users
Click any user in the list to open their User details page. From here you can manage their group membership, and view or update their permissions.
From the Users page, you can take additional administrative actions from the ... menu, such as:
- Copy reset password link: Generate a password reset link for the user.
- Disable user: Disable the user and remove their access to the organization.
Object permissions tab
The Object permissions tab shows all apps, resources, workflows, and agents the user can access, along with the access level for each. Use this tab to audit a user's full object-level access in one place.
You can view access in two modes using the View by control:
- Objects: Access grouped by object type (apps, resources, workflows, agents). Universal grants (such as "All apps") appear at the top of each section, followed by individual objects and folders.
- Roles: Access broken down by the role that granted it. Directly assigned roles appear separately from roles inherited through group membership.
This tab is read-only for individual users. To change object-level access, update the user's group membership on the Assignments tab or modify the role assignments on a group in Settings > Groups.
